Everything StartsWith A TAG
TAG is the foundation of INTELLIGENT ACCOUNTABILITY™. Quickly create interoperable IDs through SalamanderLive™ or create event-specific badges to identify people in the field with our RAPID TAG solutions. The TAG solutions enable Salamander users to instantly TRACK identified resources (people & equipment) throughout events.
Our TAGS (also known as credentials) are categorized into five (5) types: Responder, Equipment, Collections (Teams), Patients, and Civilians. When viewing the common operating picture during an event, one is able to see the difference in resources: the resources that help vs. the ones that may need help.
Finally, add the ability to secure the event by validating the authenticity of each credential and the status of each resource.
A TAG is defined as: a document or certificate proving a person’s identity or qualifications.
- With Salamander, the credential is more than a unique identifier that links to a profile
- With our credentialing, we provide the ability to read data through a QR code
- We place it on whatever needs to be identified and tracked
- We TAG all types of people: personnel, responders, mutual aid, volunteers, patients, evacuees, and civilians. We also TAG all assets, both equipment and consumable inventory. We even TAG animals :)
Interoperability is taking credentials and providing an environment where we allow associated data to be accessible across assignments, organizations, and accounts creating a common operating picture.
- Resource information is stored in the QR code, creating a mobile database, containing name, title, organization, qualifications, and certifications
- Any organization with Salamander tracking solutions can scan any other organization’s Salamander credentials
- The information is accessible in a comms-out environment
- Multiple organizations can account for their own, and each other’s, resources during the same event
Absolutely! Salamander follows and provides TAG standards in template form based on the type of organization. Simply select the correct template and hit print.
A TAG is really a token. With Salamander, a TAG can be any media type. Whether that is a standard ID badge, a smart card used in conjunction with access control, a sticky label, a wristband, or even an 8.5x11 roster or placard. We can even turn a mobile device into a credential.
Whether you are tagging responders, equipment, patients / civilians, or animals, we can be used with the media type that best fits your needs.

Now That The TAG is Created, We TRACK
TRACK solutions increase situational awareness by providing a real-time and cohesive view of activity. When tracking with Salamander, users have a complete and true operational picture, real-time. Not only do you TRACK but also effectively manage activities by identifying resources en route and on-scene, their current location, and assignment.
- How do you track resources?
- Do you track resource location?
- Who / what can I track?
- How do you verify tracked resources?
Resources can be tracked many ways with Salamander. They can be tracked using the TRACK APP (with an iOS or Android mobile device), through COMMAND (a PC Based Solution), and / or through the Chart tile, which is included in our EVENTS PRO suite within SalamanderLive. Scan, move, or add resources into assignments during an event to ensure that each resource is accounted for.
Yes! Within an event, the Map tile will display the location of the TRACK APP including the logged in user’s name, phone number, organization, latitude, longitude, and more. Every time the device moves more that 50 meters, SalamanderLive will update its location on the map. Resources can also be tracked in Esri with an ArcGIS integration.
We can track anything that is tagged. The most common resources we track include responders, equipment, collections, evacuees / patients, and civilians. During an event, easily identify where resources are located and if they have been moved to off-scene.
With Identity Verification turned on in the TRACK APP, any scanned SalamanderLive credential can be verified, including people belonging to other SalamanderLive accounts. Have peace of mind knowing exactly who is on-scene and what they are qualified to do.
